My Art Goes to Italy

A church community in
Italy used art from my Parable Paint Series as inspiration for a fun evening of food, fellowship and creativity.
The painting they chose was the Parable of the Sower...

from

Matthew

13:1-23

These are photos from the night they got together to do their group art project.

I loved seeing the variety of ages of people working on the project together.

Each of them painted a section of
the original design.

When they were finished, they were able to put them
all together ..

to
create
the entire
image.

                 experience!

Even though this all happened in Italy... I feel by sharing my art as the inspiration for their project,  I was also there.

Since I was not...
I had to miss out on their delicious food.
Yum!

I am so happy to share their creative spirit with all of you.  BE INSPIRED !!!

Peace

I've been working on some crosses this week that I'll be posting for you all.  I spent my whole afternoon Sunday after getting home from church just painting.  I REALLY LOVE PAINTING ON SUNDAY!  It seems to just be a natural response for me after a worship service.   I love working with color and texture.  They were done with a combination of acrylic paint on canvas and collage done with dried acrylic paint.  The hardest part about doing these, was cleaning up the mess afterwards and how much time each one took...but I loved every minute of it. I called this first one Peace!  I like how the green background really contrasts so well with the bright colors in the cross. I'm working on more of these in different colors, and I'll probably post one a day this week.  Stay tuned!

My Art Goes to Russia

Giving and Recieving
by Cheryl White
Acrylic on 2 Canvases, each 21" x 17"
for Church in Tula, Russia

This is a two part piece I did for a church in Tula, Russia.  It was a gift from our church to theirs when a group from  CBC  went there on a mission trip.  The two connected paintings symbolized our connection with them as fellow believers. Reminding us that even though we are located on two separate continents, we are unified in Christ as one body of believers and a share a bond that will last for all eternity.  This was a really fun painting to do and it encouraged me so much to know they liked it. I love that even though I didn't go on the trip, my art did, and even stayed behind...and so through doing this painting, I am a part of their journey, and they are a part of mine.
